Nagoya

We stayed one night in Nagoya, the 4th biggest city of Japan, big buildings, nice parks and a lot of restaurants. We went to visit Nogoya castle which was under renovation bc Of massive destruction during the 2nd world war.
We also took pictures with à samouraï.

In the evening, there are so many restaurants to choose from so we ended up in a Korean bbq, (we didn't know it was Korean) it was mostly young people and us. Very funny place, the food was good but not stunnish as before. Anyway, we smelled smoke and enjoyed the evening.

Maneki-Neko that you can see outside stores, it means lucky cat, welcoming cat, fortune cat. The most common belief is that the left paw raised brings in customers, while a right paw brings good luck and wealth, although some believe the opposite

Kyoto

To sum up the rest of the journey:

Kyoto
We stayed 11 -16th may in Kyoto, during our time, we went to 3 temples : Sanjusangeno (the temple of 1001 statutes of Kannon, Nishi Honganji and ....)
We met Yoko and Johan (japanese/swedish couple that we met in Sweden 2 years ago thanks to Ulrika) for dinner in japanese restaurant and enjoyed a very good meal with different plates. What a pleasure and good time together, and nice to have people to explain about the food and the city.
The day after Johan took us around in the city (we rent bike, better idea to circulate in the city) and went to Gion (the Geisha area where I took pics of fake Geisha, it´s difficult to see real ones and they don´t like be taken on picture) He also took us to a beautiful temple and to finish to the cover shopping street.
Oups, I forgot, we made a stop at a Japanese knives store, small and made in Kyoto, Johan explain about what kind of knife and what is the use (He is a chef in japanese food and also speak very good japanses, what a luxury!!) Henric bought a set of 2 knives, he was so happy!
We met Yoko for dinner and ate Ramen (japanese soup with noodles, there is thousands of recipes) It was a very small place with only few seat on the bar ) DELICIOUS!! the bouillon was based on fish, noodles, meat and hard egg cocked in the bouillon.
The day after we went to the Arashiyama (west Kyoto, of side) to visit the Iwatayama monkey Park. Great landscape, very touristic place, monkeys are japanese macaque and live freely there, you cannot touch them, steer at them and feed them. It was wonderful!!
